Abstract
This contribution explores the various possible interpretations of urban regeneration, focusing on the legal and regulatory framework governing macro-regeneration at the national, regional, and European levels as a tool to reduce land consumption.
The analysis examines two key aspects of urban regeneration:
- Its relationship with private interests, particularly property rights.
- Its connection with public interests, with specific reference to the protection of differentiated interests.
The objective of this study is to assess the compatibility between the current Italian land governance system and the achievement of land consumption reduction goals through regeneration policies.
